Our brand launch.  It started with a craving to be better.  Previously operating as Olive Branch Catering, I had already catered and lead kitchens for almost a decade.  I have a huge passion for food and working with people, but something was missing.  Our service was excellent and we received nothing but compliments about the food.  So what was it?  I battled with this for some time, wondering what the next level would be, until it occurred to me that my business didn’t reflect the deeper passions, mission, and joy that I value in my own life.  If I was going to try to take my company to the next level, it had to reflect the deeper things that I value.  I would have to try to turn it into something more meaningful than just a business.

In a fast paced world where we often race through days and weeks without connecting, food and drink have to be more than a great evening and a pleasure to our senses.  It has to create a backdrop for people to slow down and have the opportunity to celebrate each other’s qualities, characteristics, and interests, resulting in laughter, joy, and acceptance.

What do I value more than anything?  The relationships and moments I have with my wife, Carly, my son, Rylan, our future son expected in September, and our friends.  In our marriage, Carly and I have traveled the world, tasting the excitement of local flavours and adventure; we have engaged in the experience of sharing our time, values, and laughter with each other, family and friends, and as a result, I realized there is no greater joy than relationships.

If our events are to provide this type of experience, it has to start at the very beginning.  What would represent this relationally-focused relaunch better than a business launch with my partner in life, Carlyanne?  Having worked as a special events director and having a natural eye for design, Carly is strong in my weakness and I in hers.  In 2010 we did our first wedding together, our own, and it was beautiful of course.  We have a common passion for helping others pursue the gift of marriage, and so this company has a strong focus and foundation on weddings.

We look forward to celebrating together.

A very special thank you to Sarah Lis Smith who listened to our vision and created our new name, brand and site from scratch. It has been a pleasure working with you over the past months.

Another thank you to the most talented wedding photographer Clint Bargen for our food shots on our website.
