Aaron & Greta
On September 4th, 2016, we had the opportunity to be part of a wedding at one of our favourite venues. Originally a machine shop in the 1920s, Performance Works is now a performance and multipurpose space in the heart of Vancouver’s Granville Island. This unique site served as the reception venue for Aaron and Greta’s 230-guest wedding. With an industrial style ceiling and large velvet curtains that open to reveal floor to ceiling glass sliding doors, this venue was the perfect space to bring the bride and groom’s vision to life. Event planner Evelyn Mah orchestrated the modern decor, including hanging floral arrangements, marble table runners, and gold-rimmed plates.
Prior to the start of the reception, guests were welcomed to a cocktail hour complete with our infused water station in a trio of summer flavours, “his and hers” drinks, and summer punch.
The dinner menu was fresh and seasonal, and included assorted breads with rosemary sea salt butter, and a variety of salads and local vegetables. Seared chicken breast was served with thyme sauteed button mushrooms and roasted garlic confit with a white wine and shallot reduced cream sauce. We also served citrus tropical salmon, and a chef-carved AAA striploin. Later in the evening, tea and locally roasted Republica Coffee was served alongside dessert.
What a joy it was to be apart of Aaron and Greta’s special day!
Thank you to Jess on Photography for graciously providing the beautiful photos.
